Ghanaian prolific writer and Vice President at IMANI Ghana, Bright Simons, has urged the Bank of Ghana to replace the image of politicians on one of the new Ghana cedis notes with that of KofiAllotey.
Francis Kofi Allotey who died on November 2, 2017, was a Ghanaian mathematical physicist.
Kofi Allotey before his death did a lot of help in the advancement of science and technology in Ghana. Hence, Bright Simons thinks he deserves to be on one of the new denominations of currencies — the GHC100 and GHC200 notes.

Bright tweeted:
Someone tell the Mandarins at the Bank of Ghana: remove the politicians from one of the new cedi specimens & replace them with the late Kofi Allotey, the only Ghanaian theoretical physicist of international repute & first full Professor of Math! Politicos have been given enough!”
